Yorkton's Gallagher Centre hosted the Major Hockey League's bantam and midget all-star weekend on January 12.
The event was a success with a great turnout of Major Hockey League fans and parents.
The bantam skills competition goes as follows: hardest shot - Ashton Wilson of the Moosomin Rangers, fastest skater - Jordan Mish of the Grenfell Winterhawks, best puck handler/agility skater - Dionne Putland of the Churchbridge Imperials, top goaltender - Dawson Stefansyshyn of the Yorkton Dr Auto Terriers.
The midget hockey skills competition goes as follows: hardest shot - Riley Merden of the Swan Valley Stampeders, fastest skater - Bob McKay of the Swan Valley Stampeders, best puck handler/agility skater - Destin Vranai of the Melville Chiefs, top goaltender - Derrick Kulcsar of the Esterhazy Flyers.
After the skills competition wrapped up, the bantams and midgets held separate all-star games.
Team Black dominated Team Orange in the bantam contest, beating them 12-2.
In the midget game, Team Black edged Team Orange in a 6-4 victory.
Game MVP awards followed the pair of matches.
Of the bantam age group: Team Orange (Richardson Pioneer) player of the game - Shack Genaille of the Cote Wolverines, Team Black (Team Everlast) player of the game - Ron Lee of the Esterhazy Flyers, goaltender of the game - Dawson Stefanyshyn of the Yorkton DR Auto Terriers.
Of the midget age group: Team Orange (Grain Millers) player of the game - Rob McKay of the Swan Valley Stampeders, Team Black (McDonalds) player of the game - Ian Pekrul of the Whitewood Elks, goaltender of the game - Wendell Friday of the Cote Chiefs.
Yorkton puck-stopper Dawson Stefanyshyn stole the show among hometown products, winning the bantam goaltender of the game and top netminder in the skills competition.
