For the second time in four years, it is Miller Time in Regina.

At the start of the season it was Marshall time, but that came to an end late last week when the Riders decided it was time to make a change. Greg Marshall was let go from his head coaching job with the football team and so was offensive co-ordinator Doug Berry.

Now the most interesting game of the season will be the Labour Day Classic on Sept. 4 when the Riders host Winnipeg. The team made the announcement within two hours of the team arriving back in Saskatchewan after their road game in Toronto the night before.

The team has lost seven of its first eight games of the season, including a 34-6 loss against British Columbia back in Week 2.

Shortly after the release of the two coaches, the team announced that Ken Miller would be brought back onto the sidelines and he would take control of the team from hereon in.

Miller who is currently 69, was the team's head coach for the past three seasons when he announced that he would be stepping down from that position to concentrate on being vice-president of football operations.

He assumed the dual role of coach and administrator in January of last year.

One thing Miller was known for was his team-first attitude among his players and establishing strong bonds.

With the coaching change there will always be debate whether or not Marshall was given a good enough chance to succeed.

The team might have the right guy in charge of things now, but according to The Leader-Post polls, more people in Regina were more interested in seeing Berry get let go as opposed to Marshall.

Marshall had 17 years of experience in the CFL as an assistant coach. His tenure with the Riders ended with more than two years remaining on his contract.

In his debut with Saskatchewan, he lost 42-28 to the Eskimos.

Miller, for his part, is confident enough that the team has the right pieces in place, even though there are some notable players from last year who aren't around anymore.

Among them: Jeremy O'Day, centre, Omarr Morgan, cornerback, Chris Szarka, fullback, Marcus Adams, defensive tackle, Tad Kornegay, linebacker/cornerback, and Luc Mullinder, defensive lineman.

Added to that, slotback Andy Fantuz is still working his way into the NFL. And Robb Bagg and Cary Koch are still nursing injuries, according to the Leader-Post.

There is still enough time left in the current season that the team could change its fortunes around.
