Candian Wrestling Elite (CWE) is returning to Yorkton in just a few weeks with a brand new tour called Nightmare on Elite Street.
The tour will hit Yorkton on August 3, and the event will be held at Yorkdale Central School.
Danny Warren, the owner of CWE, said their tours are getting bigger every time. This time they’re doing 21 events in 21 days across give provinces.
There will be about 20 wrestlers on the entire tour. Warren said there are a lot coming from the USA and around Canada as per usual, but this time they’ve got wrestlers from Japan and India as well.
When asked about how they link up with wrestlers on the other side of the world, Warren said in a lot of places the wrestlers will come to them.
“We’re the only company in North America touring as much as we do,” said Warren. Because of this, wrestlers’ companies want to get them involved to get experience. That was the case for this tour.
Also part of this tour for the first time in about three years – there will be a female attraction.
There will be one female wrestler from Philadelphia and one from Ohio.
“People are excited,” said Warren. He explained that women’s wrestling has grown to be much more than just sex appeal in the ring. He said they have become respected just as male wrestlers are – for their athletic ability.
Warren also added that having women involved in their tour will give young girls who watch the show someone to look up to as an athletic role model.
Headlining the show will be wrestling legend The Russian Nightmare, Nikita Koloff. It’ll be his first ever Canadian wrestling tour. He’ll be making a special appearance on the live event, and he’ll be around for autographs and photos before the show starts.
Doors will open at YCS at 6:30 p.m, after a VIP meet and greet.
Yorkton will be the fourth stop out of 21. Warren said they’d still be fresh, so it’s sure to be an exciting show.
