Norquay team tops the Preeceville Co-ed Slo-pitch League

The Preeceville Coed SloPitch League had a very successful year, according to organizers who said the season concluded at the end of July with playoffs. The winners of the A side and B side were determined by a round robin playoff.

The Preeceville Coed SloPitch League had a very successful year, according to organizers who said the season concluded at the end of July with playoffs. The winners of the A side and B side were determined by a round robin playoff.

The Norquay team, known as Skeeters, topped the league, winning the Aside title. Team members included: Marcy Griffith, Delwin Fesyk, Lori Vogel, Jordan Vogel, Chanie Burym, Devin Severson, Kris Cherewyk, Jeff Holodniuk, Austin Severson, Patrick Cardinal, Todd Griffith and Walter Burym.

The local Preeceville team, known as Scared Hitless, won the B side. Team members included: Alynn Meberg, Ashley Ward, Brett Meberg, Jim Ward, Jeremy Mattison, Josh Erickson, Sheldon Luciw, Cliff Prestie, Katherine Walker, Genevieve Galay, Riley Erickson, Jason Wardle and Melissa Wardle.

“We had hardly any ball nights missed due to the weather,” said Riley Erickson, league president. “Everyone had a lot of fun and we saw some very competitive ball this season. I hope that people continue to have fun at this sport so that the league can grow with even more players and teams next season. A big thanks goes out to everyone who participated and made this such a great season.”

The final league standing for the A side showed Sketters with three wins and zero losses; Balls Deep had two wins and one loss; Renslip had one win and two losses; and the Golden Aces were at the bottom with no wins and three losses recorded.

On the B side, Scared Hitless recorded three wins and no losses; Soft Balls had two wins and one loss; Yield recorded one win and two loses; and Parkland Pounders recorded zero wins and three losses.
