The Preeceville School gymnasium has undergone some changes the last few years with the most recent change being a new hardwood fl oor. The project started June 22 with completion slated for sometimes during the summer prior to the new school season.

The new hardwood flooring is being replaced by Centar with the price tag being approximately $100,000. In addition to the flooring, the gym will receive sound proofing tileto be installed at a later date.

The new flooring will be a great asset when the Preeceville School hosts the provincial 3A senior boys volleyball championship in November, said Cary Franklin, a coach at the school.

“The school had hosted a provincial senior girls volleyball championship in November of last year, so we are well prepared to host another great event,” said Franklin who will be the commissioner for the event. “Ten teams from across the province will be here with the best of the best competing for the provincial title.

“The Preeceville senior boys have a great shot at the title as they made provincials last year. This is great opportunity for our school and community to shine. We are looking for volunteers so if anyone is interested he or she can contact the school in the fall,” he said.
