Provincial cross-country meet

The Saskatchewan High Schools Athletics Association held its provincial cross-country meet in Delisle on Oct. 15. Yorkton was well represented at the meet, with athletes from both Yorkton Regional High School and Sacred Heart High School competing.

The Saskatchewan High Schools Athletics Association held its provincial cross-country meet in Delisle on Oct. 15.

Yorkton was well represented at the meet, with athletes from both Yorkton Regional High School and Sacred Heart High School competing.

SHHS competed in the 3A division and the team placed seventh out of twelve teams. The YRHS team competed in the 4A division, placing fifth out of fourteen teams.

In the senior girls individual division, Kelsey Haczkewicz from YRHS had an impressive second place finish overall. Alex Flaman placed seventh and Jennifer Haczkewicz placed fifteenth, both also from YRHS. There were 95 athletes overall in the senior girls race.

In the junior boys individual race, Jaxon McLeod of SHHS placed twenty-second overall. Dawson Malinowski, also from SHHS, placed twenty-eighth. There were 83 runners in that division.

In the junior girls race, Paige Novakowski of YRHS finished in fourteenth place. There were 73 runners in that race.

In the midget girls individual race, Zoe Flaman of YRHS finished in fourteenth place while Kaitlyn Klemekski of SHHS finished in twenty-seventh. There were 98 athletes in that division.
