The Yorkton Regional High School wrestling team travelled to Prince Albert on Jan. 7 to compete in the Prince Albert Small Communities Invitational during Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA) wrestling action.
The tournament proved that hard work and dedication from the athletes paid off.
Congratulations goes out to Fred Slater and Alex Redwood who went on to place fourth in their respective weight categories.
Taking home the bronze medal in their categories was Russell John Eddy, Robert Shuster and Noah Misener.
A sterling silver goes to Michael Kozushka.Jessica Riffel, along with rookie Dwayne Sangwais, both took home gold medals.The team is now looking forward to their next meet in Saskatoon where they will compete in the Western Canada High School Wrestling tournament where they hope to finish just as strong as they did in Prince Albert.
