The Sacred Heart Jr. Saints football team held their season opener at home last Wednesday afternoon against the Esterhazy Jr. Warriors.

The Saints won 52-24 with quarter scores of 24-0 after the first quarter, 38 - 6 at the half and38-12 at the end of three.

Darcy Todos, head coach of the SHHS squad said the reason they were able to put up 52 points is that their quarterback trio of Tannum Wyonzek, Mackenzie Biblow and Austin Walkington, were all able to make plays, says Todos.

"It's a good way to start the season. But we need to continue to work on specialty teams. The QBs did a really good job selling the play."

Scoring for SHHS were Brendan Campbell, Peepeetch, and Jake Holinaty. The next game for the junior Saints will be in Melville on Monday (Sept. 19) at 4 p.m., against the junior Cobras.

The Jr. Saints are made up of Gr. 7-8 students from Christ The Teacher Catholic Schools and Gr. 9 students from Sacred Heart.
