The 2012 version of the South East Senior Baseball League (SESBL)regular season was scheduled to come to a conclusion last night in Swan River.

Although results of the Cardinals at Swan River game were not available to the press in time, it won't effect the placings of the league's top three clubs, the Yankees, Royals and Supers.

The final game of the season was to be played out in Manitoba as the Yorkton Cardinals took to the highway to play the Swan River Reds.

At stake for the Cardinals was a chance to jump one point over the Melville Bison and possibly into fourth place in the league standings.

At best for the Reds is a sixth place finish.

Looking upwards, the Yorkton Yankees, who were recently handed their only loss of the season against the Willowbrook Royals, remain in top spot in the league with a record of 12-1-1.

The Royals sit one point behind going into the playoffs with their record of 12-2-0 and 24 points.

With Canora's regular season done, they will finish in no better than third spot, sitting at 7-6-1 and three points better than Langenburg.

The Indians, with a record of 6-8 would need a pair of wins to tie Canora, have 12 points. The Cardinals sit one point below the Indians and Melville Bison, with 11 points and a record of 5-7-1.

The Cardinals could make one last jump with a win in their season finale in Manitoba As of Friday, the Cardinals sit one point back of Melville.

The Bison are scheduled for two more games over the July 7-8 weekend in order to determine their final standing for the post season.

Rounding out the league will be the Reds, Yorkton Orioles and Parkland Padres with four, three and two points respectively.

The Cards were tentatively scheduled to play in Swan River but weren't sure if they were going to be able to make the trip due to players available.
