Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) took part in the provincial championships in Humboldt in late September and had four students finish in the top 60.

With football players, volleyball, soccer and cross country athletes all in full swing, the sport of golf is getting back into the limelight in the two Yorkton high schools.

Jonathan Bell had by far the best finish for his school, placing 24th out of 83 golfers in the province in the male division.

Garrett Karcha, SHHS coach said Bell was the "most consistent" of his participants that weekend. Bell's 2-day score was 166. Placing in second of the Sacred Heart boys results was Adrian Lucky who came in 43rd overall. He shot 174 over the 2 days. Dylan Johnson was the next-best finish for SHHS boys with 177 and good for 48th overall. Troy Waggoner came in 55th with 179.

Bell said that it was good to finish high at the tournament but noted that it's "a lot more difficult to compete in provincials."

"It's just for fun," he said.

A practice run was available for those who arrived in Humboldt a day earlier.

Bell finished both days shooting 83 on Friday and Saturday
