The Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association cross country season came to an end over the weekend.

The Sacred Heart High School cross country team finished the season with a great provincial meet at Echo Lake Provincial Park on Saturday, says Sacred Heart coach Rachel Sterzuk.

The team won a silver medal in the 3A school size category for having the second highest score for their top four runners with a score of 55.

They missed out on the team gold medal by only four points to Saskatoon's Aden Bowman.

But they finished ahead of Regina's O'Neill, Lumsden High School and Moose Jaw's Central Collegiate Institute, to name a few.

In individual race action, each age group had over 100 runners making for very strong competition, says Sterzuk. Sacred Heart runners who finished in the top 20 include: Justine Zarowny who placed 6th in midget girls, Rita Fetsch who placed 11th in senior girls, Elias Giannoulis who placed 18th in senior boys and Petro Vivchar who placed 20th in junior boys.

Coach Sterzuk was extremely pleased with the team silver medal as well as the strong racing of each individual athlete.
