The Sacred Heart Gr. 9 boys volleyball team participated in a 12-team tournament during Saskatchewan High Schools Athletics Association (SHSAA) over the weekend.

Chad Holinaty, coach of the team, said it is a learning experience for the team.

"They showed a lot of improvement," he said following the team's elimination, but noted that there is "lots to work on".

The Sacred Heart club competed in Pool B alongside the Melville Comprehensive School, Langenburg, Weyburn Junior High, Oxbow and Prince Albert (St. Marys).

Holinaty told the media Saturday afternoon that the one thing his team does have is height, adding that you can't teach that. There are nine players on this year's team and they are still working on individual movements.

Sacred Heart finished the tournament ranked sixth. They played Melville, Langenburg, Weyburn, Oxbow and Prince Albert.

Coach Holinaty also noted that it is a challenge to keep the team going alongside numerous other sports.
