The South East Senior Baseball League is getting close to determining a new champion.
Following the elimination of the Cardinals at Jubilee Park several weeks back, the title is officially up for grabs.
As of the weekend, four clubs remained in contention for the trophy.
The Yorkton Yankees, Langenburg Indians, Canora Supers and the Willowbrook Royals.
Each team is paired off into a best-of-3 winner moves on, loser goes home scenario.
The league finalists are expected to be announced early this week.
The Indians play the Yankees in a third-and-deciding game here Monday night. While down the road in Canora, the Supers and Royals will play off in the same scenario.
The winners of both of these games will advance to the SESBL final.
The Yankees led the league at the end of the 25-game season schedule but have not had an easy time in the semi finals where they're matched up with the Indians, who won the series opener 8-7 in Yorkton.
The teams met up the following night (July 26) in Langenburg where the Yankees evened things up with a 6-3 win.
The Willowbrook/Canora series opened that same night in Willowbrook and ended in a 1-0 Royals' win.
Game two of that series was scheduled for Monday night in Canora.
