B3Xtreme Sports in Yorkton will be creating a Ambition/B3 snowskate team this winter. Ambition is a company that sells snowskates and issued a press release recently that they will be sponsoring a local snowskate team.

Ambition is a company that sells snowskates and issued a press release recently that they will be sponsoring a local snowskate team. A snowskate is a hybrid of a skateboard and a snowboard. It is intended to allow skateboard-style tricks in the snow. There are many types depending on the brand or style of snowskate. The sponsorship is the first time a skateshop starts its own snowskate team. "Saskatchewan is an awesome province for snowskating and we're hyped at the opportunity to support local riders with the boys at B3," reads the release.


The Yorkton Sports Bank is in need of hockey skates. Located in the basement of city hall, the Yorkton Sports Bank is looking for anyone with outgrown or un-used hockey skates to please bring them in for donation. The Yorkton AAA Harvest return to home ice for a pair of games this week. Tonight, they welcome the Notre Dame Hounds to the Farrell Agencies Arena for the first of two games. The teams meet up for an 8 p.m., start tomorrow (Thursday night). On Sunday, the same two clubs meet for a Sunday afternoon start, with the puck drop at 4:30 p.m. Yorkton and the Hounds are separated by a single point in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League standings.


The Junior 'A' Yorkton Terriers are in for two home games and one road game this week. Tonight, they face the Weyburn Red Wings, on Friday night, it's Yorkton and the Melfort Mustangs and on Sunday, they head to Weyburn for a rematch with the Red Wings. Game times for the home games is 7:30 p.m. Game time in Weyburn is set for 6 p.m.


Golf Saskatchewan announced that the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course in Yorkton will host the 101st edition of the Sask., Amateur Men's Championship next summer.
