The South East Senior Baseball League had three games played over the weekend. The Yorkton at Canora game scheduled for last Wednesday has been rescheduled to June 18 in Canora. Over the weekend, Canora, Parkland and all four Yorkton teams saw action Sunday and Monday night.


The Yorkton Cardinals of the Western Major Baseball League got upended in their regular season road game in Melville on Monday night. Falling 9-2 to the Millionaires put Yorkton's overal season record at 2-5. Last night (Tuesday) they were scheduled to play the Moose Jaw Miller Express at home. Tonight, they meet Regina, also at home.


The elementary school football season has started at the Yorkdale Central Public School. The team has been playing well so far, including two wins over Preeceville last Tuesday.The second last week of June will be busy for the Royals, with both games and practices scheduled, ending with a Gr. 8 tournament in Saskatoon.


The Iron Fist Tae Kwon Do club of Winnipeg held their third annual club challenge on May 26. Twelve competitors from Yorkton took part and three of them won three medals. Eric Fookes of Yorkton and Tyler and Kallie Buenneke all brought medals in all three events (sparring, patterns, and the breaking events.
