The Yorkton Harvest are looking for their third win in a row when they visit Wilcox tonight to take on the Notre Dame Argos. Yorkton had a two-game win streak going. The Argos currently sit even at .500. Yorkton then heads out on the road for a pair of road games this weekend.


The Yorkton Terriers are on home ice for a pair of SJHL matchups this weekend. On Saturday, Yorkton hosts the Battlefords North Stars and on Sunday afternoon, they host the Estevan Bruins. Game time on Sunday is 6 p.m. One week from tonight, Yorkton travels to Kindersley to take on the Klippers.


The Yorkdale Central Public School will be starting both boys and girls basketball tryouts this weekend, says Yorkdale Central coach Jason Boyda. The two teams will be playing in two different leagues this season, the Yorkton Elementary schools league as well as the east central league where they will face competition from the high schools.


The Yorkton Elementary School Sports Association will be putting on the first ever 'funspiel'. It is a curling tournament for the students. It will take place next Friday (Dec. 9) at the local club. The tournament runs from 4-8 p.m., according to Mark Schendel, president of YESSA activities. It will include eight elementary school.


The 1st Annual Yorkton Kidsport street hockey tournament was originally scheduled for next month, however, City officials say it will be pushed back to March 2012.
