There will be a parade to mark the event at 2 p.m., from the corner of Darlington and Sixth Avenue N. It will proceed west on Broadway Str. to the Gallagher Centre and will disburse into the parking lot. Parade entries must be in place early that day. Parade directors will be on site to place entries in order and monitor the parade. Anyone wishing additional information should contact Penny Sandercock at 782-6456.


The opening game of the Yorkton vs. Canora playoff series was rained out on Monday. The league was hoping to be able to reschedule the game for tonight (Wednesday). The other series between the Melville Bison and Langenburg Indians was scheduled to open last night in Langenburg. None of the results were available in time for press.


The Yorkton Cardinals of the Western Major Baseball League were forced into a rain cancellation on Monday night. They were scheduled to make it up last night (Tuesday) with a doubleheader with the Swift Current Indians.


The Yorkton Municipal Airport will be the site of the Prairie Thunder Drag Race IX. The 1/8 mile long drag strip will feature all classes of cars, trucks, motorcycles and snowmobiles. Start time for racing is 9 a.m. Tickets are available at $15 for adults and $5 for children.re was 3-2.
