Jarret Stoll and his family are celebrating the LA Kings Stanley Cup victory with the community on Aug. 16. There will be a parade to mark the event at 2 p.m., from the corner of Darlington and Sixth Avenue N. It will proceed west on Broadway St.


Jarret Stoll and his family are celebrating the LA Kings Stanley Cup victory with the community on Aug. 16. There will be a parade to mark the event at 2 p.m., from the corner of Darlington and Sixth Avenue N. It will proceed west on Broadway St., to the Gallagher Centre and will disburse into the parking lot. Parade entries must be in place early that day. Parade directors will be on site to place entries in order and monitor the parade. Anyone wishing additional information should contact Penny Sandercock at 782-6456.


The Yorkton Cardinals Richardson Peewee baseball team has begun its playoff quest with a possibility of two games this week. The team was scheduled to play Melville yesterday (Tuesday) and the winner of the game moves on to play the winner of Estevan/Melville tomorrow (Thursday).


Connor Lutz of Yorkton has been keeping quite busy over the past couple of months attending several powerlifting competitions in both Canada and Europe. He competed in the Canadian nationals and the worlds in Sweden.


The Yorkton Cardinals of the Western Major Baseball League played Saskatoon on Monday and lost 9-4. The team plays tonight at 7:05 p.m..


Team Saskatchewan beat North Dakota last week in the annual 9-man football encounter. The game was held in Melfort for the top graduating high school players. Team Saskatchewan included Preston Liebrecht and Robert Okeny.
