Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association- Parkland Valley District (formerly called Zone4) participated in the Provincial Senior Games In Regina and I am enclosing a list of the winners from our District.

Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association- Parkland Valley District (formerly called Zone4) participated in the Provincial Senior Games In Regina and I am enclosing a list of the winners from our District.

Of the districts competing in the SSFA 55+ Games held in Regina on July 6-8, 2010, Parkland Valley District ranked fifth in medal count with a total of 23 medals won in bowling, shuffleboard, scrabble and track and field.

The medal winners for Parkland Valley District were as follows:5 PIN BOWLING:55+ bronze medalists:Anne Shumay was the lone Yorkton representation on the team whose other members are from Melville; 65+ gold medalists: Martha Mosiondz, Verna Brenner, Joyce Wagner, Gloria Kostiw and Pauline Spilchen, all representing Yorkton. CRIBBAGE: 55+ mixed silver medalists:Corkie and Jean Loewen, of Yorkton.

SHUFFLEBOARD: 55+ silver medalists:Delores Stoll and Ed Wihlidal; 65+ gold medalists:John Murray and Don Herman; silver medalists: Lloyd Stoll and Alf Timmerman.SCRABBLE:gold medalist:Marie Horvath

TRACK AND FIELD: Anita Bella won the gold medal in 400 predicated timed walk in the 80+ category; George Bella won gold medals in 400m and 1000m predicated timed walk and bronze medals in shot put, and javelin. Bob Edwards won gold medals in 70+ category (triple jump, javelin and discus and silver medal in shot put). Ilean Kolynchuk won the silver medal in the 400 predicted timed walk and bronze medals in the 1000m predicated timed walk and javelin. Polly Wardle won gold medals in the 70+ categoryin javelin, 100m, 400m and 800m predicated timed walk.
