The text message came from his offensive co-ordinator, Jason Boyda.

Toth and a few others will be making a trip to Regina in the next couple of weeks in order to find out if he is named the 2011 Regina Intercollegiate Football League's Defensive Player of the Year.

Toth, a Gr. 12 student who just played out his final year of eligibility with the Yorkton Regional High School football team.

"He is also our kicker and long snapper," reminds Roby Sharpe, head coach of the team.

Toth also found out that he was named to the all-star team. Through the past season, he had played on both offence and defence. Sharpe said that may have actually worked against him, as his game-by-game defensive statistics likely would have been higher.
