Their best of three playoff series got off to a pretty good start unfortunately the same could not be said about the finish.

After winning game one, then losing game two, the bantam Terriers and bantam Oilers got together Tuesday night in Yorkton for one last date.

The Oilers ran away with a 4-0 win.

Yorkton head coach Grant Ottenbreit wasn't happy with the way his team started the game.

He was happy with the way they started game two, both games resulted in losses.

"Yeah, you know what? We did," he said when asked if they played well enough in the first loss of the series (Monday night)."

We outplayed them."

Yorkton had a 1-0 lead, then Regina tied it in the second period, then got the game winner in overtime, said Ottenbreit.

That forced a third and deciding game in Yorkton the following night.

"They outworked us (tonight)," he said before adding that Yorkton was stopped on a penalty shot in the third period of game two.

"They outbattled us (tonight)," he added.

The tides turned in Yorkton's favour a little bit when, Ottenbreit said, they started playing their own brand of crash and bang hockey, however, Regina's goaltender clearly had plans in mind that night to post a shutout, winning 4-0.

"It's a backbreaker," he said.

"We believed we had a chance."

The 4-0 loss ends the UCT season.

Ottenbreit noted that the absence of right winger Grayson Neufeld clearly did not help them get on the scoresheet, being held to one goal over the last 6+ periods of hockey in games 2 and 3.

"It did hurt," adds Ottenbreit.
