Yorkton hosts Midget hockey tournament

Hockey teams from across Saskatchewan and Manitoba went head-to-head at the Kinsmen Arena over the weekend as they vied for glory in the 2018 Yorkton Midget Tier Two Tournament.

Hockey teams from across Saskatchewan  and Manitoba went head-to-head at the Kinsmen Arena over the weekend as they vied for glory in the 2018 Yorkton Midget Tier Two Tournament.
Local teams the Yorkton RE/MAX and the Yorkton Snap-On Tools mixed it up with the Tisdale Ramblers, the Saskatoon Aces, the Winnipegosis Tigers, the Regina Buffalos, the Hague Royals, and the Weyburn Red Wings over a series of games.
The tournament ran from Jan. 26 to Jan. 28. Each team played three games as they advanced through the bracket.
In the “D” group final, the Snap-On Tools defeated the Tigers four to three.
In the “C” group final, the Yorkton RE/MAX team overcame the Royals with a score of four to three.
The Buffalos scored five goals to the Red Wings four in the “B” group final.
The Aces dominated the Ramblers nine to two in the “A” group final.
