The YRHS football team took its second 'preseason' challenge in the past two weeks as they played host to the Crocus Plains Plainsmen of Brandon in an exhibition football game Friday afternoon.

Everything seemed to click in a 46-14 win over Brandon.

Head coach Roby Sharpe said he liked what he saw but noted that there are still some kinks they need to work out before the start of the season.

"It was a good game. I saw lots of bright spots and we're still a young team."

The YRHS were able to get past the goal line several times and held Brandon's attack at bay.

"We made some mistakes, don't get me wrong," he added. "We'll get kinks worked out."

The other bright spot of playing their second exhibition game in two weeks was that it was a golden opportunity to get a lot of kids playing well ahead of the start of the season.

The Regional Raider Gridder will be joining the Moose Jaw High School league in the fall which will present them with some new challenges on the field.
