Letter: Decision on where to build a new power plant reached in a fair manner?

The editor:

According to my usually reliable sources, there has been a very spirited debate within the Saskatchewan Party regarding the location of a 350 megawatt power plant, scheduled to be built near either Swift Current or Lanigan.

I have also learned that Donna Harpuer, MLA for Humboldt, has expressed both surprise and disappointment with the announcement that the plant’s chosen site will be near Swift Current. She also is reported to have said the people of Lanigan, which is located in her constituency, were particularly disappointed with the announcement.

I can only conclude that my MLA here in Swift Current presented a better case to the Premier of Saskatchewan. So, get over it Lanigan. It was all done fair and square.
