Time for changes to 'Rider line-up

I'll be, relatively, brief on the Saskatchewan Roughriders this week. They are 1-and-4 to start the season and ended the last regular season with four losses out of five before going on a run in the playoffs. The fact is that this team is bad.

I'll be, relatively, brief on the Saskatchewan Roughriders this week. They are 1-and-4 to start the season and ended the last regular season with four losses out of five before going on a run in the playoffs. The fact is that this team is bad. Something needs to be done with the offense. I thought Darian Durant should've taken a seat at halftime on Saturday night as the game was still within reach despite sub standard play from him. Furthermore, he has had two games where he has been so ineffective, you would think he had never quarterbacked a CFL team before. I like Durant, but it's time to go back to the drawing board of sorts with him. Some say the issue is a personal one with him and Doug Berry. That maybe true, but if neither one of them are going anywhere they either need to sort out their differences or else give Ryan Dinwiddie a shot.

I just finished reading Ozzy Osbourne's autobiography and I am amazed the man is still alive. At one point, he had done so much drugs that his body's immune system shut down resulting in a positive HIV test. Another time, a doctor had to give him four shots of Demerol instead of the usual one because his body had built up such a tolerance to it. I know this is highly interesting for Kevin Lukey, of Cornerstone Credit Union. I've had an ongoing thing with Kevin for a number of years. Whenever he came on the radio station for morning interviews, I always bugged Mark Nicholls to play an Ozzy song either right before or right after the interview. Apparently, Kevin's disdain for Ozzy came out one morning when we were discussing a concert of Ozzy's that was scheduled for the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon.

The latest book that I'm reading out at the lake is Chicken Soup For The Sports Fan. It should also be chicken soup for athletes of today because they sure could learn a lot from athletes of yesteryear. I despise the Yankees, but can't help but be touched from a relationship Roger Maris developed with a young fan that resulted in Roger's grandson being named after the fan. Michael Jordan once kept a bunch of street kids in Chicago in line by always checking up on their grades. He was also well known for helping a number of under privileged youngsters throughout his career. I'm sure for the all bad apple athletes we read about, there are some good ones out there. I'd sure like to hear some of those stories for a change.

Speaking of the lake, does anyone have a tip on how to deter horse flies? They drive me crazy.

Women may want to Google the name Rich Froning. He was crowned the fittest man on Earth at the Reebok CrossFit Games over the weekend.

I caught a Yorkton Cardinals game last week. It was the only one I attended all year, and I was impressed with the attendance. I wasn't too impressed with the talent, however. Nevertheless, there are some good promotions and the kids that go with their parents seem to really have a good time. Still, to win me over I need to see more wins in the standings.

For the guys, head to YouTube. Nothing sells like sex to us simpletons. You will see lingerie basketball is finally here.
Not a bad time to be a rock music fan in southern Saskatchewan. Fans of 80s hard rock should be in Regina on Thursday to see Great White, Warrant, and Slaughter. Next Saturday, Loverboy is coming to the Painted Hand Casino. Hinder headlines a show at the Gallagher Centre later this month, and the casino opens its doors to Default in September. Not bad for not being a major market.

Men's Health Magazine's Dave Zinczenko has a couple of thoughts for us this week: sharing your touch screen smart phone with someone is the same as sneezing in their face. And, eating a handful of blueberries a day will keep you looking younger and your organs healthier.

Nice person mentions this week to Austin Vargo, Tim Walsh, Jordan Schindel, and Home & Away.
