LOOKING BACK... A Decade Ago

After town council had signed a memorandum of understanding with SaskWater, which was a step towards having the provincial body take over the municipal utility, a debate began regarding the feasibility of allowing SaskWater to take over. Mayor Bert Pollon had said that if the town did not go with SaskWater, it would have had to borrow about $3 million to complete an upgrade of the system, which was estimated to cost $5.4 million.

Two weeks after Kamsack had begun the celebration to mark the 100th anniversary of the community and the province and still residents and visitors were basking in the glow of a highly successful undertaking.
