YRHS activities

The YRHS hosted the 2013 Region four Drama Festival, April 19-20, and did quite well, receiving 19 awards between the two plays they performed.

The YRHS hosted the 2013 Region four Drama Festival, April 19-20, and did quite well, receiving 19 awards between the two plays they performed.

The two plays were "The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza"; a comedic way of telling many greek myths including the Iliad, Jason and the Argonauts, and Pandora's box in under one hour, and "39 Steps: A Live Radio Play"; a man becomes tangled up in a journey to clear his name from an untrue murder accusation.

In "The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza" the awards won were Runner Up Best Production, Mary Ellen Burgess Acting Award of Merit given to Alex Redwood, Acting Award of Merit presented to Nicole Logan and Jenna Boychuk, Spirit of the Festival Award received by Trista Miller, Acting Merit for Performance to Trista Miller, Most Promising Actor of the Year given to Logan King, Technical Award of Merit awarded to Miranda Lisoway, and Technical Merit in Lighting given to Megan Proceshyn.

"39 Steps: A Live Radio Play" won Best Visual Production, Acting Merit for Performance given to Rhayna Scheffler and Chelsea Liboiron, Certificate of Merit in Acting awarded to Donald Miller, Certificate of Merit in Acting and the Certificate of Merit in Leadership and Encouragement presented to Miranda Lisoway, Certificate of Merit in Acting to Andrew Kennedy, Technical Award of Merit to Megan Proceshyn the Bob Hinitt award, Spirit of the Festival SDA, and runner up to Best Stage Manager awarded to Shelby Patton. The YRHS would like to congratulate the students and thank parents and members of the community who came out to watch these performances for their support.
