Dear Editor: The nursing profession is celebrating National Nursing Week May 7 to 13, 2012. This year's theme is "Nursing, the Health of our Nation".

It must frustrate rural people to no end to hear the NDP Opposition bemoan the state of health care under Premier Brad Wall's government. Now, don't get me wrong. Saskatchewan Party government health care coverage is something less than perfect.

The Saskatchewan government made it abundantly clear in its recent budget they are into a cycle of trimming anything not seen as essential in terms of expenditures.

The "Painter of Light," as the world knew him, died last month. Artist and author Thomas Kinkade, well known as a devout Christian, was among the world's highest earning and most popular living artists.

I promised that I would tell you about some of the interesting things that we saw at Gardenscape in Saskatoon a few weeks back. Among the many fascinating displays was one that I thought was very unusual.
