KENASTON - As far as an emotional level is concerned, the Kenaston Blizzards hockey team has got to be flying pretty dang high these days.

The team not only captured the SVHL league championship after a series of games against the Kyle Elks on Friday, March 24 at home, but they also went the distance and once again claimed the Provincial 'C' Championship the following night on March 25 when they defeated the Eston Ramblers.

For the league title, the Blizzards found themselves going up against the Elks and the series wound up in Game 4 back in Kenaston. Kyle took the win in Game 1, followed by the Blizzards taking the win in the next two games, so this one was must-win for the Elks. Alas, that did not happen and Kenaston took the victory and the league title at a score of 6-3, claiming the SVHL championship.

It wasn't a long celebration period for the team though, as Kenaston found themsleves back on their home ice the next night in their provincial series against Eston. Having won the first game in this best of three series, it was must-win for the Ramblers if they wished to continue, but once again, it was Kenaston's night to shine as the Blizzards won at a score of 11-7, making them provincial champions for the second straight year.

Managed by Chad Firby and Brad Hoffmann, coached by Chance Jewell and Chase Zdunich, and trained by Mike Hertz, the Kenaston Blizzards are comprised of players Jaimen Yakubowski, Connor Gay, Garett Bembridge, Carson Stadnyk, Logan McVeigh, Jordan Tkatch, Kyle Haines, Nolan Haugen, Eric Asbjornhus, Evan Zdunich, Leighton Jewell, Michael Haugen, Dawson George, Colby Haugen, Monty Zdunich, Morris O'Handley, Jackson Firby, Greg Moir, Connor George, Brett Lewchuk, Brodie Ringdal, Chris Prpich, Skylar Feltis, and Mike Prpich.
