OUTLOOK - The basketball court at the Home of the Bisons was once again busy with another tournament this past weekend, as LCBI High School hosted their 46th annual Rick Johnson Classic boys event over February 2 & 3.

Inviting seven other teams from Rosetown, Briercrest Christian Academy, Hafford, St. Brieux, Waldheim, Kindersley, and Hudson Bay to participate, the action got underway on Friday afternoon and continued into the evening hours, ending with LCBI squaring off against Briercrest.

The Bisons upended the Cougars at a score of 62-44 in a fierce contest, which sent LCBI into a slot against Hafford on Saturday afternoon to see who would go on to the championship game. Unfortunately for the hometown Bisons, the Vikings brought their A game and wound up besting LCBI at a score of 65-53.

This would send the Bisons to the 3rd Place game against the Kindersley Kobras, which wound up being another exciting bout of action on the court between both teams. Both sides grabbed momentum at different parts in the game until the Kobras found a winning defensive formula that worked for them, keeping the Bisons at bay by just a handful of points.

In the end, it would be Kindersley who'd win the game and take 3rd Place in the tournament, besting the Bisons at a close score of 74-68.

The winning squad of the tournament itself in the final game between St. Brieux and Hafford was the Vikings, who bested St. Brieux at a score of 93-79 to win the Rick Johnson Classic.
