OUTLOOK - The LCBI Lady Bisons are now provincials-bound after coming out on top of a Regionals tournament that was hosted on their home court this past weekend.

On March 17 & 18, LCBI welcomed the St. Brieux Crusaders, Rosthern Huskies, and Asquith Athletics to Outlook for the 2A event that would decide which rosters would advance to the HOOPLA Provincials tournament in Prince Albert.

Starting with a Friday night game against Rosthern, the Lady Bisons showed they were not going to disappoint their hometown supporters and dug deep with a fierce playbook on the court that couldn't be matched. LCBI quickly found themselves ahead by a large margin and didn't let up, making a statement that they were there to win in a big way. By the time the final buzzer went off in the fourth, the Lady Bisons were victorious at a score of 74-20.

The roster from St. Brieux showed some tenacity as well, defeating Asquith at a score of 78-65, which slotted them up against LCBI in the final.

To say that this game was a nail-biter would be putting it lightly, as both teams fought back and forth for control of both the ball and the court. The even-steven skills on display were impressive from both teams throughout the game. However, in the final seconds of the game, LCBI found themselves just two points ahead and needed the last few seconds to play themselves out. When they did, the Lady Bisons found themselves victorious at a score of 54-52.

The Regionals win now propels LCBI to the HOOPLA Provincials event this coming weekend in Prince Albert. At press time, in addition to the game between Wilkie and Rocanville, the Lady Bisons are set for their first game on Friday against the roster from Regina Laval.

The LCBI Lady Bisons, coached by Samantha Ridgewell, Kira Berggren, and Rileigh Reynoldson, are comprised of Kelly Chan, Hallie Sincennes, Jane Wilson, Kaitlin Wright, Olivia Thompson, Olivia Hefner, Kate Wilson, Morgan Chabot, Holly Nelson, Georgia Johnson, and Rachel Brand.
