Photos - Outlook becomes Christmas village with side-by-side events

Popular events spread by word of mouth around the riverside community.

OUTLOOK - Two events held in Outlook worked side-by-side to indirectly turn the Irrigation Capital of Saskatchewan into Christmasville, SK, Canada.

This year's Winter Wonderland down in the Outlook & District Regional Park, which finishes its run on December 23, saw a large turnout of businesses and organizations snap up campsites in order to decorate them with all manner of lights, figures, posters, artwork, and everything else under the sun that conveys the message of the holiday season. This was the third edition of the drive-thru event, and it's only grown in popularity since it was created in 2020.

As well, the artistic and creative folks at Outlook's Equinox Theatre put their absolute best feet forward in order to give people an unforgettable event at the Civic Centre that ran for three evenings over December 15-17. With admission by donation, 'A Celebration of Christmas' allowed people to walk through the building, entering with a little help from three toy soldiers (otherwise known as Caleb, Nicholas, and Jonah Turton) and taking in a list of exhibits and activities including Santa's workshop, a nativity scene, Candy Cane Lane, Winter Wonders, a photo frame feature where you could snap a family portrait, and a seemingly-endless number of small, miniature homes that came together to create a wintery, snow-set village in a 'Starry Christmas Night'.

Although the park's Winter Wonderland drive-thru is sure to return for a fourth year in 2023, it seems as though people will more than likely be hoping for another 'Celebration of Christmas' courtesy of Equinox Theatre next year, as well.
