The Outlook up for five Better Newspapers awards

Awards highlight the best and brightest in weekly provincial media.

OUTLOOK - The pages of The Outlook newspaper just keep getting more must-read, and it shows with this year's latest announcement of BNC award nominees.

The Better Newspapers Competition (BNC) takes place every spring, selecting the best and brightest in journalism, opinion pieces, photography, advertising, and newspaper layouts.

Writer Derek Ruttle is up for Best Educational Coverage for his story on Beechy School students working together for over a year in creating a community history book.

Writer Shelley Luedtke is up for Columnist of the Year for 'My Outlook', Best Feature Story for her article looking at the medical story of Benny Grunerud, and Best Health/Healthcare Coverage for her story on a family drawing attention to end-of-life options.

In addition, The Outlook newspaper is up for the award of Best Editorial Page in its class size.

The BNC award winners will be announced on Thursday afternoon, May 9.
