Elementary athletes excel at track meet

The Sturgis Elementary School grounds were the site of the annual Preeceville, Invermay, Norquay, and Sturgis (PINS) track and field meet on June 17.

STURGIS — The Sturgis Elementary School grounds were the site of the annual Preeceville, Invermay, Norquay and Sturgis (PINS) track and field meet on June 17. Approximately 350 students from the four schools were in attendance in the full-day of events.

Athletes in age categories from Grade 1 to Grade 6 were presented with ribbons after the day.

Sturgis student winners

Grade 1 boys, Cruz Russell, first in ball throw and broad jump; Bentley Lario, third place in ball throw, third place in 50m, long jump; Avery Storoschuk, first in the 50m, long jump, second place in broad jump; Anthony Prokulevich, second pace in the 50m which was tie with Chance Will; and Chance Will, third place in long jump, first place in 400m. Storoschuk was the aggregate winner.

Grade 2 boys: Axel Eagleson, first place, 50m and 400m.

Grade 2 girls: Brinley Robinson, third place broad jump and third long jump.

Grade 3 boys: Dawson Serdachny, first place in ball throw, long jump, broad jump, 400m, and 50m; Zion Tomas, third place, ball throw; Blake Beatty, second place in long jump, broad jump, 50m; Abel Eagleson, third place in long jump; Jacob Seghers, third in the broad jump and Kage Babiarz, third place in the 400m.Serdachny was the aggregate winner.

Grade 4 boys: Ryder Beatty, first place in the 100m.

Grade 5 boys: Koy Babiuk, third place in shot put; Grade 5 girls: Lakyn Seerey, second place in 800m, third in shot put, and tied in the high jump with Precious Amonte of Preeceville; and Lindy Romanchuk, first in shot put, second place in high jump.

Grade 6 boys: Austin Jansen, third place,100m and third in long jump) and Kolton Fortin, second place in shot put; Grade 6 girls: Yanni Temonio, first in the 800m.

Preeceville students 

Grade 1 girls: Julie Ziola, first place in 400m, 50m, standing broad jump, third in ball throw; Hannah Petras, second in 400m, 50m, and standing broad jump and third in long jump; Evelyn Maier, third in the 400m, 50m, and standing broad jump. Ziola was the aggregate winner.

Grade 2 boys: Shivin Dureja, third place in ball throw, and Oliver Nelson, second in standing broad jump; Grade 2 girls, Georgia Van Nieuwenhuyze, third in the 400m, first in long jump and ball throw, and second in the 50m.

Grade 3 boys: Avyan Leason, second place in the 400m. Grade 3 girls: Hermie Trinidad, second in the 50m; Tinashe Mugadzi, third in 50m and standing broad jump.

Grade 4 boys: Luke Ziola, first place in the 800m and second in 100m; Maverick Tremblay, third in shot put, Ziola was the aggregate winner; Grade 4 girls: Charis Maier, first in the 800m, shot put, 100m,, second in long jump and third in high jump; Emily Belesky, second in the 800m, third in shot put, second in 100m, and first in high jump; Olivia Olson, second in shot put; Danae Draper, third in long jump. Maier was the aggregate winner.

Grade 5 boys: Landon Erickson, first in the 800m, high jump, and 100m, third in long jump; Lane Townsend, third in high jump; Zachary Durand, second in long jump; Erickson was the aggregate winner. Grade 5 girls: Precious Amnte, first in long jump and 100m, and tied for third in high jump; Brooklyn Modeland, second in long jump, first in high jump and third in the 100m. Amonte was the aggregate winner.

Grade 6 boys: Jaxon Neilson, first in the 100m, long jump, high jump, 800m, and shot put. Neilson was the aggregate winner. Samuel Korney placed second in the 800m, long jump, and third in the 800m; Ben Tremblay placed second in high jump and third in shot put. Grade 6 girls: Kaleigh Meberg, first in high jump; second in 800m and shot put; Dylan Descalchuk, second in the 100m; Becca Spray, tied for third in high jump, first in the 100m; Lizzie Ivanochko, third in long jump and in the 800 m. Spray was the aggregate winner.

Norquay students

Grade 1 boys: Keaton Griffith, second in ball throw; Jett Severson, third place in broad jump; Lucas Severson, second place in 400m and John Guertin, third in the 400m. Grade 1 girls: Isabelle Lillebo, first in ball throw, KC Keshane, second in ball throw, Alaina Gazdewich, second place in long jump.

Grade 2 girls, Laci Wright, first in 400m and broad jump, third place in ball throw and 50m; Grade 2 boys, Jake Holinaty, third place in 50m, and 400m, second in long jump, first in ball throw; Langston Quill, first in long jump.

Grade 3 girls: Aria Gazdewich, third in long jump and second in 400m; Tinley Wager, first in the 400m; Lexi Wright, third in the 400m; Macilyn Keshane first in ball throw; and Freya Yarycky, third in ball throw. Grade 3 boys; Beau Severson, second in ball throw; Hank Moroz, third in the 50m.

Grade 4 boys: McCoy Northrop, third in the 800m; Brady Holinaty, first in shot put; Gaven Little, second in shot put; Trenton Whitehawk, third in high jump.

Grade 5 boys: Ethan Dickoff, second in the 800m and third in the 100m; Jak Holodniuk, third in the 800m; Lucas Wright, second in high jump and the 100m and shotput and first in long jump. Grade 5 girls: Everly Yarycky, first in the 800m; Ally Vanin, third in the 800 and second in the 100m.

Grade 6 boys: Rhyan Radchuk placed third in high jump; Lloyd Nokinsky placed second in the 800m. Grade 6 girls: Jenna  Fikkert placed third in shotput.

Invermay students 

Grade 2 boys, Max Dubas, second in 50m, ball throw, and 400m, and third place in long jump and standing broad jump; Dubas was the aggregate winner. Grade 2 girls, Autumn Salmond, second place in 400m, long jump, and ball throw, and first in the 50m. Salmond was the aggregate winner.

Grade 3 girls: Callie Bosovich, first in 50m, long jump, and standing broad jump; Hailee Ferenal, second place in long jump and standing broad jump Hunter Flowers, second in ball throw. Bosovich was the aggregate winner.

Grade 4 boys: Karson Enge, second in the 800m and second in long jump; Juan Lucas, third in 100m, first in long jump, and second in high jump; Grade 4 girls: Aspen Salmond, third in 800m and 100m, and first in long jump.

Grade 5 boys: Perseus Mesias, first in shot put; Grade 5, girls: Candace Villete, second in shot put; Sunny Ke, third in long jump.

Grade 6 girls: Brielle Ange placed second in high jump, first in long jump; Princess Corpuz tied for third place in high jump with Becca Spray of Preeceville and placed first in shot put and third in the 100m; Thea Barcelona, second in long jump.
