PREECEVILLE — This school year, the Preeceville Nursery School welcomed a total of 18 students between both the three-year-old and four-year-old classes. The class was acknowledged in a graduation ceremony on June 17.

"The kids worked hard all year long mastering skills to go into kindergarten with this coming fall. Those skills included using scissors properly, learning to colour, recognizing their name and most kids even mastered spelling their names, learning to stand in a line, learning how to sit at circle time, and most importantly we worked on being a good friend," said Jessica Arnfinson, teacher.

"These kids worked hard, but it wasn't all hard work, we had a lot of fun days too. During the school year we did numerous spirit days that changed monthly, we also did a science day monthly which was something new this year and the kids loved it. We also did gym class at the legion hall monthly also. We had sensory bins that changed bi-weekly in the classroom always with a different theme. During the year we were able to go on small trips to Pattison/John Deere, three visits to kindergarten, three visits to the big playground, we walked to the festival of lights and we preformed our big Christmas concert.

“Our school was also fortunate enough to do slight upgrades to the classroom this year like painting and a few new toys, which had really brightened up the space making it more inviting and fun for the kids," she stated.

“While this school year has now come to an end, we have opened up online registration for this fall and are so excited to welcome another group of kids for another exciting year ahead. Thank you to everyone who supports our local nursery school, it really does give our kids an awesome start to heading into the "big school".

“Have a great summer,” concluded Arnfinson.
