Wendy Heise, beloved wife of Norman Heise of Churchbridge, SK, passed away at the age of 61 years at the Regina General Hospital, Regina, SK on Monday January 12, 2015. Wendy Jane Heise was born April 5, 1953 in the Esterhazy hospital. Her doctor was Dr. McKenzie. She was the third child of Herbert and Betty (Boreen) Bjarnason. Wendy was baptized on June 14, 1953 in the English Lutheran Church in Churchbridge by Pastor Cederberg. Her godparents were Donald and Shirley Boreen. Wendy was confirmed on June 2, 1968 by Reverend Walters in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Churchbridge. Wendy grew up in Churchbridge and completed all of her education there. During her school years, Wendy made many lifelong friendships that she maintained throughout all of her years. Wendy always valued family and friends. On December 9, 1972, Wendy was united in marriage to Norman Heise. They were blessed with two sons, Rick and Rod. In 1987, Norman, Wendy and the boys moved to the farm. Throughout all these years, Wendy was a devoted mother who loved attending her sons' school and sporting activities. She enjoyed watching her sons play hockey, ball, curl and compete in many other sports.  Her four granddaughters were the joy of Wendy's life. She loved watching her granddaughters figure skate, curl, participate in dance recitals and play baseball. In addition, she loved watching her granddaughters perform in Christmas concerts and partake in other school activities. She enjoyed when her granddaughters came to the farm. She genuinely loved spending time with them. Wendy had many hobbies and interests. For over thirty years, she enjoyed being involved with Avon. Wendy created many friendships through this organization. Wendy loved music and she particularly loved listening to the oldies on her satellite radio. She enjoyed trips. She watched ball games in Minneapolis, toured Las Vegas and traveled to Phoenix. One of her favorite summer activities was camping and her favorite camping spot was Clear Lake. She spent countless hours working in the farmyard. She planted flowers and a large garden and took pride in keeping the farmyard looking nice. She enjoyed all the farm animals but most of all she loved the peace and quiet of living in the country. Wendy's favorite time of year was Christmas. She decorated the house inside and out with numerous lights and decorations. She was always one of the first to put the Christmas tree up and was usually the last person to take it down. She enjoyed watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music (especially Christmas music by Elvis Presley.) Wendy was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Betty Bjarnason and numerous uncles and aunts. Wendy is survived by her husband, Norman; her sons, Rick (Erin), and their daughters Shelby and Sara; Rod, and his daughters, Hannah and Jolie; her brothers, Robert (Grace) and sons, Brett (Katie) and Curtis (Megan); Douglas (Marilyn), and children, Cory (Scott) and her son Winston, and Ross; Woodrow (Pat) and Brian; Auntie Ila Martin; Uncle Scott (Elva) Boreen; Auntie Joyce Boreen; Auntie Ester Boreen as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and good friends. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from Trinity Lutheran Church in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan with Pastor Jeff Dul officiating. The organist, Grace Dressler, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Beautiful Saviour", "How Great Thou Art" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus".  A special taped music recessional was "No Matter How High I Get" sung by Rachel Dancsok. The Interment Service followed in the Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery with Curtis Bjarnason, Sheldon Fenuk,  Ross Bjarnason, Brian Bjarnason, Dwayne Heise and Bill Lippai serving as the casket bearers. The Honourary Pallbearers were Colleen Griffin, Caroline Sveinbjornson, Sheila Muzylowski, Barb Kaeding, Verna Brenner, Cindy Wolfram and Linda Roset.
