Linda Elizabeth Kitsch was born on February 22, 1922 in the Stornoway District of Saskatchewan; a daughter of Henry & Adolphine (nee Brenner) Bishoff. Although born in the Stornoway district she lived most of her life in the MacNutt/Landestreu district. She married John Kitsch on October 9, 1940, and were blessed with three children: Kelly, Brad and Marcella. The couple farmed until 1964, when they retired to Yorkton. Throughout their years on the farm, John & Linda were faithful members of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Landestreu and at Zion Lutheran Church when they moved to Yorkton. Following John's death in 1992, Linda continued to maintain her independence until a stroke forced her into long term care at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. She passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2014. She was 92 years of age. She was a great hostess and a wonderful cook, if anyone left her table hungry it sure wasn't her fault. Her family and her Saviour were most important in her life. She was predeceased by her parents Henry & Adolphine; son Kelly; sisters: Lillian Dreilick, Elsie Kauk, and Elma Fries; brothers Paul & Ted. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son Brad (Pat) of Yorkton; her daughter Marcella Brauer of Surrey, BC; grandsons: Doug (& Shani of Yorkton and children Chelsea, Garrett & Nathan); David (& Pam of Newmarket, ON and their son Daniel); Michael (& Karen of Edmonton and their children Josie, Brandon, Kayla and Lindsay). Granddaughters: Tracy (& Chris McPherson of Vancouver and their children Taylor & Lexi); Lee Brauer of Vancouver. Also sisters, Florence Wohlers of Calgary, and Doreen Hertlein of Saskatoon; a brother Ernest (Rose) of Claresholm, AB, along with numerous nieces, nephews and her many other relatives and friends. She was greatly loved and will be missed by her entire family. The funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from Zion Lutheran Church in Yorkton with Rev. Daniel G. Moeller officiating. Organist, Verna Liebrecht led the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Jesus, Lead Thou On', 'The Old Rugged Cross' and 'Abide With Me'. The interment took place in the Garden of St. Mark at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Ralph Kauk and Doug, David, Michael, Garret & Nathan Kitsch serving as the casketbearers. Condolences may be left at baileysfuneralhome.com. Memorials were to the Lutheran Hour.
