YORKTON – Author Anna Shaab was at Young's Plant World Dec. 9 to deliver a reading of her children's book, "Anna The Garlic Farmer: Just Be Yourself."

"You've got to keep it light and fun and that's what today's about," Shaab told Yorkton This Week, adding the purpose of the reading is "the connections that we make with people and the community."

"This is our way to get kids here — get involved — enjoy some time and share the magic of the greenhouse," said Kimberly Lafontaine, part owner of Young's Plant World.

"She shares our energy ... we're super pumped to have her read her story," added Jenny Young, part owner of the greenhouse.

Shaab, who has worked as a garlic farmer in the area for nearly two decades, also has a background in education. Copies of her book are available for purchase at Young's Plant World.
