Piano Heist set to perform at Anne Portnuff

Duo combines theatre, comedy, audience participation and stories in performance.

YORKTON – The two-person duo of Piano Heist is set to take the stage at the Anne Portnuff Theatre March 13.

"Lifelong friends Nico Rhodes and Patrick Courtin are on a mission to redeem the piano and prove its status as the greatest instrument of all time. With the music of great composers, songwriters, and performers and the use of technology, they present everything from classical piano pieces to boogie woogie and romantic ballads in their show Piano Heist," read a media release from the Yorkton Arts Council.

According to the release, their show combines elements of theatre, comedy, audience participation, stories, history and musical madness to create a world of musical wonder.

The duo consists of Nico Rhodes and Patrick Courtin. 

Piano Heist's website describes Rhodes as "a genre jumping, multilingual musician who collaborates with other artists and artforms to experience and explore music in as many styles as possible," and Courtin as "first and foremost a pianist, but also he is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, music director and teacher."

Tickets for the performance are available through the Yorkton Arts Council.
