Sweet support for local healthcare

YORKTON – The Health Foundation is once again partnering with Tim Hortons for the annual Smile Cookie Campaign. 

The fundraising initiative that has proven to be a “tremendous promotion” according to Ross Fisher, Executive Director for the Health Foundation.

“We really appreciate the support from Tim Hortons for the hospital and our local health care,” said Fisher doing a media scrum at the east Broadway Tim Hortons. 

The campaign, which started last year, has been continued by Tim Hortons, much to the delight of the Health Foundation.

Vishal Sharma, General Manager for Tim Hortons, shared the company’s excitement for the upcoming holiday Smile Cookie season. “This time we are going to have volunteers too,” Sharma said, inviting anyone interested to help decorate the cookies.

The funds raised from the campaign will go towards the hospital, benefiting the community at large. “It’s good for the community and the community will be the one who will be the helping hand,” Sharma added.

Sharma encouraged the community to participate in the campaign by purchasing cookies, with the proceeds going to both the camp and the hospital. He revealed that there was already a pre-order from Yorkton business Harvest Meats for 336 cookies and urged more businesses to pre-order cookies.

In 2022, the campaign raised several thousand dollars, a testament to the community’s support and generosity. This year, the Health Foundation is already seeing pre-orders due to their active promotion on social media.

The Smile Cookie Campaign starts on November 13 and runs until November 19 and is a sweet way to support local healthcare.
