The Weyburn Red Wings were in Yorkton Wednesday night to take on the Terriers.

YORKTON – The Terriers played host to the Weyburn Red Wings on the evening of September 21st  at Westland Arena.

The Terriers were looking to extend their streak coming off back to back wins over the Bruins on the weekend.

The Red Wings were the first to put themselves on the board with a goal coming late in the first period courtesy of Jackson Hassman at 17:55.  The Terriers would answer a short time later with the puck finding the net by way of JD Hall's stick at 19:43.  1-1 heading into the second period.

The second period saw no scoring on either side of the ice and the game remained tied going into the third.

The Terriers' Brett Butz was able to capitalize on a power play effor mid-way through the third with the assist coming by way of Pavel McKenzie.  With less than two minutes remaining in the period, the Red Wings pulled their goalie, but it wasn't enough for the comeback and the Terriers' Clay Sleeva put the puck into the open net.

3-1 for the home town team.

Caleb Allen was in net for the win, shutting down 24 of the 25 shots.

Dazza Mitchell was in net for the Red Wings, taking on 28 shots and saving 26.

The Terriers will host the Nipawin Hawks at Westland Arena this coming Sunday of September 25th, and will travel to Kindersley to take on the Klippers Monday evening.
