Yorkton This Week

A major gala was held on Friday night to celebrate SIGN’s fiftieth anniversary. Many in the community use the organization’s facilities and programs.

A power outage which lasted about six hours occurred on Thursday, May 9 due to an accident on a farm field about three kilometres southeast of Canora.

The Yorkton Brick Mill is going to get some much needed repairs, and a grant from the Sask Heritage Foundation is helping to make them a reality. The grant is a numbers matching grant of $25,000.

Tourism Week is a provincially marked event each year in Saskatchewan. Monday, at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council, the week was also unanimously proclaimed to mark the week of May 26 to June 1 as Tourism Week in the city.

The City of Yorkton has established its sub-classes of land and improvements for tax purposes and its 2019 Mill Rate. Both decisions were made Monday at the regular meeting of Yorkton Councils.
