On March 21, clients and staff at SaskAbilities brought out their best socks and mixed them up, everyone wearing a mismatched pair. They did this to celebrate World Down Syndrome Awareness Day.

A report released recently notes that the total value of Saskatchewan exports to the world reached $31.2 billion in 2018 marking an 11.2 percent increase over 2017.

Mayor happy to see new dollars for capital

This past week I’ve been playing the game Illusion of Gaia. It’s a great game. It’s a strange game, at one point the main character gets scurvy of all things, but it’s quite fun and is not like very much else you can play.

The Saskatchewan Selects team is back from Texas. Participating in the 2019 International Pigskin Classic in San Antonio, TX, the teams from Saskatchewan – which include Yorkton players at all levels – put in a good showing in the tournament.

Yorkton Fire Protective Services has been training for the past couple weeks, keeping their skills up in case anyone in the city will need their help. This past week they were rope rescue, confined space and high angle situations.

This week, the Saskatchewan government embarks on what is its most positive advertisement — it’s annual budget.

A traditional powwow will be held in Yorkton this weekend. The event is being organized by Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services with a focus on ‘Honouring Our Children, Our Families’.
