Federal Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Lawrence MacAulay and Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister David Marit announced enhancements to the 2019 Crop Insurance Program.

Barry Whitehead of the Royal Canadian Legion Yorkton presents Ross Fisher of the Health Foundation with a check for $5 000 from the poppy fund. The monies will go toward equipment upgrades at the hospital.

Grain Growers of Canada (GGC) members from coast to coast are in Ottawa this week to meet with government as part of the second annual National Grain Week which runs from February 26-28.

The Saskatchewan Arts Board has awarded grants to two Yorkton-based artists.

It was a golden weekend for Yorkton United FC at the indoor provincial soccer tournament in Saskatoon. Five local teams participated in the provincial tournament, and four took home gold, with the fifth making it to the final and getting a silver.

The goals didn’t stop coming for the Yorkton Terriers when the La Ronge Ice Wolves came to town.

Kamsack RCMP responded to a call for a house fire on February 21, at 9 am. Alongside the Kamsack Fire Department, upon arriving at the scene rescue crews found the house completely engulfed in flames. A 77-year old male was inside.
