Dear Editor: The Board of New Horizons Senior Citizens of Yorkton Inc. would like to express our appreciation to the Government of Canada for a grant of $8,035 for the purchase and installation of air conditioner for our Seniors Centre.

The Board of Directors of Sunrise Health Region recently passed the 2016-17, Operating Budget for the Region. Not surprisingly, the budget came in as balanced, which is the mandate on high from the province in terms of local health budgets.

George Wytrykush. We are saddened to announce the passing of George Wytrykush, 74, of Winnipeg, MB on July 28, 2016. George was born in 1942 in Beaverdale, SK. His early years were spent in Yorkton, SK, with his three sisters and seven brothers.

Nellie Wade Paton. On July 26, 2016, Mrs. Nellie Wade Paton, formerly of Churchbridge, SK, passed away at the Lamont Nursing Home, Lamont, AB at the age of 95 years.

Joseph Andrew Yemen, born January 11, 1960, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at home in Yorkton, SK. Joe was the sixth child of the late David and Mary Yemen.

Gladys Molnar passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Yorkton and District Nursing Home, Yorkton, SK. She was 91 years of age. Gladys was born August 21, 1924 at Otthon, SK, the eldest of three daughters born to Vincent and Ida (nee Horvath) Gulash.
