Regina – On Sept. 9, the Government of Saskatchewan announced the distribution of $70.3 million, part of the federal Safe Restart Canada Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is one new case of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 9, bringing the total to 1,670 reported cases. The new case is located in the Saskatoon zone. Of the 1,670 reported cases, 59 are considered active.

At their regular most recent meeting, the town of Rocanville carried a motion to enter into an agreement with Nutrien Rocanville to make much-needed upgrades to the town’s lagoon.

At the most recent regular Esterhazy town council meeting, the current state of the landfill and the future plans for it potentially becoming a regional landfill were discussed.

Regina – Saskatchewan’s New Democratic Party Education Critic Carla Beck welcomed the additional $51 million announced on Sept. 8 by the provincial government for the education system’s COVID-19 response, but feels the timing was off.
