Volunteer Visitor Services (Free Program)

Volunteer Visitor Services (Free Program)
Practical and emotional support in the comfort of home.

Hospice Orillia’s Volunteer Visitor Services are designed to support individuals living with a progressive, life-limiting illness in their place of residence—whether that be a private home, long-term care facility, or retirement residence. This free program is available to individuals who have received a prognosis of less than one year.

Our trained and compassionate volunteers offer:

🤝 Companionship – Enjoy a friendly visit, play cards or board games, or simply share a conversation over a cup of tea.
🌿 Caregiver Relief – Volunteers stay with clients to give caregivers a much-needed break or time to recharge.
🎨 Comforting Activities – Gentle and creative activities such as listening to music, painting, or storytelling.
“The volunteers and staff are well trained and prepared. Our volunteer is very supportive of me and my family.”
All Hospice Orillia volunteers are extensively trained and screened according to Hospice Palliative Care Ontario standards. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and have equal access to our services.
