Barricaded person threatening self-harm removed safe

Police evacuated building, found no weapons at scene.

SASKATOON – A man believed to be armed and threatening self harm was safely taken into custody by police. Around noon on Jan. 4, SPS members were called to the 2000 block of Avenue B North, where the man had barricaded himself inside. The Tactical Support Unit also responded, assisting in evacuating the building and isolating the area.

“At around 1:15 p.m., a 25 year-old man was taken into custody safely and without further incident,” said SPS in a media release.

No firearms were located at the scene, and police are thanking the public for their cooperation in this case.
