Beauval woman facing drug trafficking, weapons offences granted bail

The woman was arrested when RCMP located a wanted man at a home in Beauval and seized drugs and weapons.

MEADOW LAKE – A 25-year-old woman, Gina Roy, who was wanted since last summer and finally arrested earlier this month, was granted bail March 20.  

Roy was wanted since July 2023 for theft of a sports utility vehicle. She was arrested by the Meadow Lake RCMP gang unit when they arrested Christopher Ernest for breaching his statutory release conditions and pointing a firearm at a man on Waterhen Lake First Nation.

On March 1, investigators had determined Ernest was at a home in Beauval. The Meadow Lake RCMP Crime Reduction Team went to the house and arrested Ernest, along with Roy.

At the home, police seized a loaded firearm, ammunition, about 28 grams of cocaine, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Ernest and Roy were both arrested on their outstanding warrants and additionally charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number.

Roy is back in Beauval Circuit Court April 17.
