Biggar RCMP investigate attempted armed robbery

The attempted armed robbery was at a home in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue East at about 12:45 a.m. on Thursday morning.

BIGGAR- Biggar RCMP are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a home in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue East at about 12:45 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Biggar RCMP responded immediately. Initial investigation determined two suspects were involved in the attempted robbery. The suspects were unable to enter the residence and left on foot. The occupant of the home didn’t sustain any physical injury in relation to the incident.

The suspects were described as being between approximately five-foot-six and five-foot-10, with slim builds. Both had their faces covered. Police are working diligently to gather more information on the descriptions of the suspects involved. Police have conducted a thorough search of the exterior of the home, conducted neighbourhood inquiries, and continue to follow-up on information provided to them. 

Residents in the community can expect an increased police presence for an undetermined amount of time as police work to locate and identify the individuals involved.

 The investigation is ongoing and officers remain committed to notifying the public should an elevated risk to their safety be identified.
